Our partnership was born spontaneously.

We are two friends who started to hike together during the pandemic when we drealized the opportunities we had in front of us. We are both certified tour guides and we have the same idea that city tours should talk more about the Tupinambás, the indigenous who once lived here. Even within the forest, all content was about the time of Portuguese colonization: its exploitation, destruction and reforestation. Important parts of local history but not complete.

What about Rio before Rio? How was the region when the first nations were the forest keepers? What is the indigenous legacy that we still find in the forest and in the city? What plants and animals can we still find today in Tijuca National Park that tell us the story of the Tupinambás? What is being done to extend reforestation and bring back the native animals of the Atlantic Rain Forest? How can we contribute to the preservation of the environment? What impact this city would have without the forest?

As nature lovers and concerned about its preservation, these stories seem to us much more important to be told. We want to show you the best of Rio, seen from unusual angles and with a new perspective.

We want to show you the Rio of the Tupinambás! Come and join us!

Renata Mello

Youngest in a family of six, I was raised with a lot of freedom but with a great sense of responsibility. Having the the beaches as my backyard and many weekends and holidays trips to the mountain within and around Rio greatly shaped my adventorous personality

In this context, becoming a photographer was a natural path, a profession that I love and that has sent me to amazing places here in Brazil and around the world.

I love the ocean and the mountains. I'm a true "carioca", who has always enjoyed the best of Rio. Now I want to share this knowledge with you.

I've got a Graphic Design degree and specialized degree in the History of Rio de Janeiro. Certified guide and First Aid course by Red Cross/Rio.

Nataly Rodriguez

I'm Colombian and l have been living in Rio for 10 years. Certified tour guide with 5 years of experience in the area and also a trekker in my spare time.

I want to show you the other side of Rio, the one that I felt in love and made me call Rio, home.

What really motivates me here is to discover the centuries-old secrets of the forest, learn about its history, its fauna and flora, and refresh myself in the crystal clear waterfalls.
